MHD Features.

MHD enables users to search for care based on the clinical needs of the referring provider and the personal preferences of the patient being referred.

Providers who wish to receive appointments are able to market their services to new referral sources covered by commercial insurance or offer donated or discounted care in the community.

Users now have the capability to:

  • Search for care based upon clinical and personal preferences, including plan and system affiliation
  • Sort, compare and select from search results at the point of referral
  • Schedule and confirm an appointment prior to the patient leaving the office
  • Schedule follow-up visits, if necessary, with confidence

Special features designed for hospital emergency departments:

  • Reduce over-crowding by scheduling patients into community-based care sites
  • Display feature to create an equitable distribution of charity care volumes in the community
  • Direct commercially insured patients to designated sites

Receiving providers are able to:

  • Post available appointment slots on the system to capture referrals
  • Post a defined-quantity of donated or discounted care slots to manage exposure to charity care and Medicaid caseloads
  • Market services for commercially insured patients at the point of referral
